1950 Gas Pumpers Info
About the Gas Pumps
We’d love to be able to offer our customers vintage gas pumps that have been around since the 1950’s, but unfortunately most of them were destroyed when the new gas pumps were installed in garages. Instead we’re able to offer our customers replica gas pumps that look and feel exactly the way the original gas pumps did back when they were first created.
The Build
Our full sized replica gas pumps are designed to look and feel exactly like the real deal, only better because you can customize them to look exactly how you’d like them to look. To begin with, all of our replica gas pumps are made using a very strong fiberglass material, to ensure that they will be able to withstand the test of time and will look great no matter how long you have them in your home.
One thing many people don’t realize is how large these gas pumps actually are. Unlike smaller replica gas pumps, our 1950’s gas pumps are built to be the actual size that the true antique gas pumps used to be. These tanks look so lifelike that, if you were to place them outside, someone may try to pull up and use the pump! And, should you like to, you can actually place these replica gas pumps outside, as they are built to withstand the weather.
The Color
Once the basic build is done, these replica 1950’s gas pumps are painted any color that you’d like, and that is what makes them different than most other replica gas pumps. These gas pumps are finished in a high gloss gel coated finish, making them bright and extremely shiny. You can choose what color you’d like your gas pumps to be, so that you can go truly retro and go with the original color of the gas pumps, or so that you can match your retro gas pump with your existing décor.
The Customization
Not only can you customize your gas pumps to match your home in color, you can also select exactly which illuminated globe you would like. We have a variety of illuminated globes that you can choose from, including some of the more well known retro gas stations, such as Shell or Mobile, and some of the lesser known ones, like Polly and Richfield. This way you can not only get your color right, but you can pay homage to your favorite gas station, or you can select one that will be a conversation starter.
You can select a gas pump that not only allows you to remember the past, but that is actually functional. Some of our vintage gas pumps can be used to display your prized possessions (possibly other things from the 1950’s), while others hold sweet treats for everyone to enjoy.
